iPhone XR XR has no earpiece volume... can't hear people unless I'm on speaker.

Iphone XR, I can't hear from the headset when I get calls, I can only hear from the speaker phone or wearing my airpods.

Does anyone know if this happens with the XR? Seems the earpiece went dead.

You could try restoring the OS to new. If that doesn't fix it - it's toast. Repair or discard. The problem you describe is very common with the iPhone 7.

I will try again to backup and restore and see if a second time it works.

Happened to me with my iPhone 11 Pro Max - Apple replaced under warranty as it was a hardware issue. Try playing music and it’ll only fire from the bottom
Speaker and sound off.
