Hello,

Really hard to get accurate info. on this.
Use Verizon, and live in the Boston area.

I understand that our XR iPhone is not 5g compatible.
Correct ?

If so, for how long do you think it will still be usable
via Verizon's 4g network ?

Thanks,
Bob

Not from your area, or even your country but 4G isn't going anywhere for a long time. There are many, many devices that only support 4G, they still have 3G and EDGE and E in some cases as well.
So basically, don't worry about it. :)

Verizon is just decommissioning their 3G CDMA coverage. Their 4G towers should be operational for many years to come.

Probably for at least another decade. 5G was designed to share spectrum with 4G, so there is not much reason to shut it down unlike previous 2G and 3G. Also, much of current 5G core relies on 4G infrastructure.
