No, honestly I wanted the Xr but went with the Xs, I know it's not a huge difference in size but not everyone is equal in terms of hand size specifically. When I tried it in the store it was too big for one hand and to be able to go from top to bottom easily without readjusting the position.

The Xs was just the right size. I wasn't ready to switch from IOS to Android at this time, otherwise, I would have gone with the Pixel. I will never pay $999 or more (which the next iPhone will be) for a phone again!

But it's rendering a lot more stuff.

Personally I didn't get an iPhone X because of a) the price and b) the screen is a lot smaller than the Plus screens were. The XR solves both problems.

That’s the problem though. With a 325 PPI display I want less content on my screen so it’ll appear sharper. It’s quite blurry as is.

Then you have got a serious problem with your eyesight! Coming from an X i can definitely say that the screen is a blast and nowhere near blurry... and the gain in screensize is great!

Well at least not for my eyes, thats for sure!

326 ppi was more than enough to not see any individual pixels back in 2010. My (20/20) eyesight hasn't gotten any better since then.

I see no difference from my 401 ppi 7 Plus and if this is the case I'm very happy to give away some ppi ratio for what for me is VERY satisfactory battery life.

Best iPhone I’ve ever had. And my last one was the XS.

Still here by the way, just gave it to the wife.

I like it, yes. Moved from X. I was not looking for larger size but I like it now that I have it. I could go back, though, but having an Xr now pretty much convinced me that 'budget friendly' options from Apple are now totally the way to go.

Anyone saying it’s blurry is just reading into media hoopla. Apple could have no released the screen specs and people would HAVE sworn it was a FULLHD panel, but people are zombiefied by the media and what they say.

The Xʀ is the BEST iPhone I’ve ever owned. I have a Xʀ, XS Max and an iPhone X RIGHT NOW. I could choose any of them any day. I have not used a different phone since October. I have opened every iPhone since the 4 minus only the 5. The Xʀ gets everything right. It’s the perfect size for me. I love it. The Max was good until the Xʀ came out and then it TRUMPED IT in the battery department so my Max is basically a paperweight. I have no Intention of using it before the next iPhone release either.

That’s my opinion. My eyes can only discern the blacks when I look at the Max and the Xʀ displays...

Is the 6'1 actually the diagonal length of active display area, or is it corner to corner, with bezel included?

6.06” diagonal measurement, not including the notch or rounded corners. Works out to be a 7% increase in display area over the XS, as the XS Max is a 22% increase over the XS.

To you. There are literally people that cannot tell the difference as hard as that may be for you to believe and it's probably most people.

Exactly. People who say it’s blurry are ones who made there minds up when the Media caused all the hoopla over 326 PPI.

Are your tablet screen crisp? How many tablets have PPI over 326?

Thats a much bigger screen than 6.1”. Those are the questions I ask when people says a 6.1” screen with 326 PPI is “blurry”.

5.8" made it feel like an in between regular and plus size of previous gens coming from a Plus, really just a taller regular 4.7" since same sized body, not satisfying enough but almost there.. and 6.1" makes it feel like a true slimmed down X-series Plus replacement imo (...i know some people still prefer wider Plus / Max screen but idc not a show stopper for me, didnt like the compromise of width on X even though feels great in hand but XR width looks alright to my eyes)

coupled with scaling gives it Max-DPI visibility on screen, in a trimmed-plus package instead of Plus physically sized again w/ a 'maxed' out screen

ymmv

It’s the prefect size for me. Was thinking of the max but when I tried it out, I found that it was impossible for me to use in one-handed mode. I just was not able to stretch to the edge even though I was under the impression that I would be able to “handle” it, seeing how I have been on the plus size iPhones since the year it was launch.

The XR fits perfectly in my hand, snug and nice for one handed use. Which is mostly how I hold my iPhone. I do still prefer to use both hands when I am typing, one handed typing can be done but not as comfortably as with both hands.

Of course the XS is even easier to use one-handed. But I find the screen significantly smaller than the plus size that I was already use to.

Most importantly the iPhone XR comes in my favourite blue and now my iPhone matches the color of the band on my apple watch. I am so superficial.

Thats ok, there are people that dont see better black on oled, blurry on low res display, color shifts on oled displays(phones) etc etc... and sometimes I do envy them that they dont need top quality products
