I just returned my XS Max in favor of the XR. I will say the OLED has a bit better clarity and colors are a tad more vivid. However, I think I was sort of blowing off a bit of eye strain with the OLED, which is totally absent on the XR. I actually enjoy that display a lot. The screen is bright and the lower resolution is just not an issue whatsoever. So many are stuck on specs.. which are numbers on paper. However in real world use the XR rocks!
Cellular has been better and so has WiFi. Coming home tonight after a 4 hour road trip. I pulled into my driveway and immediately my XR connected to my WiFi network. That had not happened at all with the XS Max. In fact most of the time I was well within my home before it finally connected and if I was any distance from the wireless router the signal would start to drop. Speed in my bedroom compared to my living room was very different. Tested the XR tonight and the speed is the same in both rooms even though it is some distance from the router.
But the best news is I am totally satisfied with the XR and I got $450 back in my account (well it will be in a couple of day) 256GB Max (which I really wanted 128gb so the XR is 128gb. $799 vs $1249. Oh and this phone was purchased for my son, but he decided he wanted a different color so this allowed me to keep this one and we ordered him another one in the color he wanted. Works for me! LOL
