Has anyone upgraded from the XR to the 11? I’m on the upgrade program in the UK and really like the camera upgrades but not sure about taking the plunge. I’m a keen photographer so the night mode etc would be fantastic (would love the pro but just too pricey).

I did, but only because my daughters iPhone 7+ died so I gave her my Xr and bought myself the iPhone 11.

I’ve only had it a few days and I really notice almost no difference. In regular day to day photos I see no difference. I’ve only done some test photos of low light and the 11 does crush the Xr. Not sure how that will translate in real life low light photos if there is movement of the subject but I’m sure it will still be better than the Xr. I still have yet to use the wide angle camera as I haven’t been in a situation where I would need it. I also don’t do selfies.

Most of the other changes to me seem to be iOS 13 related. To me it would not be worth the upgrade.

I did because I wanted the better camera. It’s my only camera, so I always opt for the upgrade. I was really happy to have portrait mode back completely (instead of limited as on the XR), and my photos have been exceptionally clear and detailed.

The improved LTE was also a draw for me, and I do seem to have better reception at home (which was my issue - we are in the boonies).

I also bumped from 64 to 128 gb (only $50 jump, which is not bad at all), and even though I wasn’t using my entire 64 gb, I really like knowing I don’t have to watch myself with videos of the grandkids. ;-p

I did it, because I wanted the following upgrades:

faster processor (A13 40% more efficient than A12)

1 GB more RAM

1 hour longer battery life

much faster 4G LTE

better wifi connection (WIFI 6)

better face id

additional ultrawide camera

extended ISO range on wide camera

2x zoom out

better night scenes

4K 60 fps video

better front camera

better screen brightness

tougher glass

better water resistance

better location sharing (U1 Ultra-Wideband chip)
