iPhone XS XS battery life on tethering

Hello, I'd like to know how long your iphone xs (or xr) last on tethering mode. I use an iphone 7 at the moment and it barely last more than 3 hours while being paired to my laptop (hotspot)

I totally understand that it depends on the type of usage. Let's say just regular web browsing. It's just to have an approximation if it really worth upgrading in my situation or the battery will go flat in couple hours anyway.

I believe he meant the iPhone should be plugged into a charger while tethering.

Every iphone i have owned has always died quickly whilst tethering

Tethering uses a lot of power so expect quick battery drain.
