Hello, guys! Should I get XS Max for € 699 or 11 Pro for € 999? I’m indecise. What do you say? Thanks.

Is it worth €300 for the additional capabilities of the 11 Pro? Faster processor and better cameras are main features. If iPhone photos are important to you then the cost may be worth it. My wife has the XS Max and is very happy with it.

I have an XSM. My son has an 11 and my wife an 11 Pro (non max). They are all pretty comparable.

Main benefits of the 11 series:
Ultra wide camera (no interest to me)
Better power efficiency battery life (useful, but both are good)
WiFi 6 (nice, but not needed)
CBRS support (very helpful going forward if on Verizon)
Slight faster cpu/gpu with better sustained performance (meh)

300 pounds more for the 11 Pro Max seems like a lot,

For me the difference is worth it. Go for the 11 pro max (If your finances allow it).

The camera is a really big improvement, and battery life too. Those are major things for my personal use.

That’s a lot of scratch for a smaller screen. Camera won’t be noticeably better between the two. And performance will be virtually the same.

The design means nothing towards value really but the 11s look like drink coasters with that frosted glass. XS Max is way more timeless and expensive looking.

Not from any article or video I’ve seen. Sure it has wide angle and the unnatural night mode. But as far as pure PQ, the difference is clearly negligible. Like not even close to being a noticeable difference

If you would desirably prefer having an newer version of iPhone go with the 11 pro

My mom has an XS Max and it’s a great device I love it

I actually downgraded from the 11 pro max to xs max last month. (Gave my wife my 11 pro max 256gb after 6 months of use). My wife had shattered front and back of my old xs max I had gotten launch day 2018

It didn’t have insurance but fortunately replaced at $600 Apple store and my credit card company reimbursed me entire amount minus $50 deductible. My 11 pro max has apple care and my wife is black widow of cell phones having destroyed every iPhone she’s owned since iPhone 3g. She’s literally destroyed 10 phones(Yes some twice in the same current generations!)

my thoughts what I miss about the 11 pro max
1. Battery life is incredible. I work from 645am in hospital to 4pm most days. My battery never went below 50%. That’s with extreme usage. 7 hours screen time. I can get easily 13-14 hours screen time Real time screen time.

2.camera is better obviously in low light. But I’m not much of a camera person. My wife is. Thus is why I gave her the phone.

that’s pretty much it why 11 pro max is better.

my thoughts on the xs max. I’ve fallen in love with it again? Why? Simple. It’s simply lighter. The 11 pro max is a heavy phone due to the bigger battery. Once you use that phone you will eventually get use to the weight. but it’s heavy. I love the lighter weight on the phone.

I’m down to 30% battery life by 4pm with
. So I can get a full 9-10 hours super heavy use out of the xs max. Remember I got replacement so the battery is brand new in replacement so I am comparing apples to apples with battery life.

the screen is pretty much the same on both phones. Technically the 11 pro max is suppose to be 800nits and xs is 650 nits but no one has their display on full brightness so it’s not a big deal.

I’m a gadget guy. And if your can save €300 euro and don’t care about battery and camera. Get the xs max. The regular size 5.8 xs I would avoid cause battery life is even worst in the smaller 5.8xs. I’d be lucky to get 6-7 hours real battery life out of the smaller xs.

all the 2019 iPhones have outstanding battery life. My kid has the 6.1 iPhone 11 and it can last a solid 10-11 hours.

Personally I'd always try and go for the newest model, so I'd choose the 11 Pro, but it's going to be a really personal decision. If you want the bigger screen and/or save some money, get the Max. If you want the best camera, best processor, newer design, get the 11 Pro.

FWIW I went from a XS Max to an 11 Pro and have zero regrets.

Add performance wise. A12 to A13 is barley 10-15% faster. And ram is still 4gb in 2018 and 2019 flagship models. The Pro 11 max has to run 3 cameras and many of us including me think that’s not enough ram. The 11 pro max consistently got hot for me and the camera would stutter at various times. It got better with each iOS 13 software update but Apple cheapen and should have put 6gb ram to support the extra camera.

remember the iPhone 7/8 plus had 2 camera and 1 extra gig of RAM compared to the smaller 4.7 inch iPhone 7/8 which only had 1 camera. There Was a reason why the extra ram.

Apple simply went cheap with lack of extra ram powering 3 camera system.

I’d love to a discussion between you and one of Apple engineers.

I’m not sure the ram is there for an extra camera.. maybe it has something to do with the screen resolution. 720p/1080p is easy to drive, higher resolutions need more meat.

Say what? iPhone 7/8 4.7 has 750p and 2gb Ra

iPhone 7/8 plus 5.5 has 3gb ram

using your logic. Why didn’t Apple just stick with 2gb ram in the 2 camera 5.5 inch plus models?

Why did they need 3gb ram? If 2gb ram enough to support 750p and 1080p?

I was replying to someone else I guess. Are you an engineer? Did you contribute anything to it’s design? No? Then what makes you such an expert?.

I would go for tt for improved camera, it really is better, battery life is also great and I am a sucker for every version and buy new each year.
