I preferred the size of the Max personally. Though the XR size also would have worked.

I really should have taken a bit more time to figure out if the XR would have been a better choice or not. But that’s just me.

I prefer the X/XS size. The Max is too big for me to use one handed. Also, I carry my phone in a leather holster (Colonel Littleton) and the XS Max is larger than what I'd be comfortable wearing on the side of my belt.

But, to each their own, and I'm glad they make both sizes. Hope they keep doing that and that the XS size doesn't go the way of the SE

I've mostly had standard-size phones, though I had a 6S Plus and now have an Xs Max. I'm not going to help you out much - I could go either way, especially now that the X/Xs size phones have a display area that's about the size of the old Plus phones. Of course, the Max is now even bigger. To me, it comes down mostly to whether you want to carry a Plus/Max-sized phone.

Although I have replaced ip7 with XS but feel ip7 is much better to handle by single hand. Also, zoom option make all difference. I couldn't understand why only XS was deprived of Zoom option.

I bought the XS the same day I got my mom the XS and loved it for all of a week. That was until I called ATT to see if they had an XS MAX. Since then it was love at first sight. Coming from several plus models(6S Plus, 7Plus and 8Plus) the Max model just felt right. I can't see me going back to a smaller version EVER again.

Love the size of the XS Max, I could never go back to a smaller screen. I can use the Max one handed with no problem.

I’ve had every Plus iPhone since the 6+. 2017 I got the X and currently still use it. If the XS Max has came out in 2017, I would’ve upgraded to that instead. I will be upgrading to the XS Max in 2 weeks and will keep my X as a backup phone.

My 6S bit the dust this morning, and I bought the XS before lunch. I tried holding the XR, and it was just too big for my hand.

When I looked at the X last year in Sams Club, I wasn't liking the lost space between that and my 7+, I compared them next to each other with Videos, preferred my 7+, but the XS Max as been a game changer for me, love it so much. So I voted XS Max.

Max/Plus size. I’ve been using the 8 Plus almost since launch, and I will likely replace it with the successor to the Xs Max this fall. I wouldn’t want to go back to a smaller phone now. Anything smaller just feels too small.

Once I started on the Plus models there was no going back for me, even the X (while still really cool at the time) was still too small.

That's exactly why I didn't upgrade from my 7 + to the X. It felt "premium" and all but I couldn't get past the size. Also the 8+ wasn't enough of an upgrade in my opinion to move from my 7+ until the XS Max was introduced.

I will always stick with the "plus" size phones as long as Apple continues to produce them.

I prefer the plus size as that's what I have been using since the 6 Plus and had every iteration since then, including the 8 Plus. I also had the X. Now I'm currently using the XS Max and love the size.

Not used a Max but had an X for jsut over 12 months now and I honestly feel like its the perfect phone size, big enough for usage and to hold also

Most likely wait till the 11 comes out and get that over a future Max phone

For me the XS is the perfect size between portability and screen size. If I want anything bigger I go to my iPad Pro.

I’ve been carrying around plus sized phones since the iPhone 6+ in 2014 all the way to the 8 Plus. So naturally when the Xs Max finally came out I thought this was the phone for me. But what I didn’t factor in was that the Xs Max is the heaviest iPhone ever. So there were times when I would have some cramps or aches in my wrist/fingers. So for that reason, especially with the bigger screen, it makes me want to try out the Xs sized device next time. I think the iPhone X or Xs with the Apple Battery case (which I have for my Max and love) is the perfect combination of form factor and battery life.

As a user of the 6+, 6s+, 7 Plus, 8 Plus, iPhone X, XS Max and now the iPhone Xʀ... I honestly prefer the 6.1” of the iPhone Xʀ. My X I have had since November 7th of last year. The XS Max I bought launch weekend in 2018. The iPhone Xʀ I bought the weekend after launch.

Since getting the Xʀ I have not used my Max one day. I have stayed with the Xʀ since November and don’t plan on using the Max anymore. To me after using the Max and Xʀ the regular sized X and XS feel small.

With all of this said. Over the past 5 years I have used EVERY iPhone model Apple has released. I do mean EVERYONE. I went from the 4S to the 5C to the 5S. After that I originally bought the regular iPhone 6 and then ended up using the 6 Plus instead. The 6S release was a little bit weirder. I bout the Plus model at first then went to a regular 6s until the 7 came. When the 7 came I used the 7 Plus for pretty much that entire year. I used the regular 7 at times when I wanted something smaller, but the iPhone 7 Plus was truly the best iPhone Apple released in 2016. In 2017 I used the regular 8 and 8 Plus until the X came. When the X came I used it up until I got my Max.

That said, I do believe the 6.1” screen is my sweet spot. I’m one of those people who likes to switch my SIM to different phones VERY OFTEN. I have not yet wanted to switch out of the Xʀ since I bought the phone.

Bored for my wife who really likes the size of her XS Max. I got the XR because I liked the size better and the extra cost features weren’t worth it for me.

I used the 6s Plus and the 7 Plus but grew to hate the size of the phone in my pocket. It dug into my hip bone when I sat down and just looked huge in my pocket. I was so happy with the iPhone X because it had almost the same size screen such a smaller package. I decided to skip the XS Max because it’s too big for me.

For guys I think it boils down to how baggy you like to wear your jeans. I consider baggy pants an undesirable look and ill-fitting. So that limits my phone size.
