Xvid Conversion

Is there a good app which will convert either an MKV video file or MP4 to an xvid avi File? Especially to convert it from a Hidef file to standard. I used to use Handbrake before they pulled the ability out of it.

FfmpegX and AVItools are two options or perhaps mpegstreamclip. My choice is AVItools, but I'm a bit biased . Or you might be able to dig up an old version of visualhub.
