Y audio connector

Hey guys&girls, I have two 2.1 speaker systems( with power ), so I want to connect it to my MBA. But MBA, like another Macs, just got one audio connector. So the question: is it safe to use Y-connector? Thanks in advance!

Is it possible to connect two computers to one RCA input on a receiver? Tried long ago and was getting low volume or static or both can't remember
