y do people think the white iphone is girly???

some people have said they wont get the white iphone because its 'girly'. y do people think this??? many of apple's original products have been white, from the ibook to the ipod. if you type in a google search you'll see various things suggested like 'is the white iphone less manly' etc etc. i dont understand it. white is not a particularly girly color.
 
its just because its a woman's preference to get white.

I know at work, mostly 99% of women have white iphones. Same thing when I was at college. Same thing amongst my friends.

of course some women get black, but, welp majority rules

Its that association alone that gives the impression white is girly. Men still get white, but it is what it is
 
All of my female friends and coworkers that have iPhones all have the white one. Only one guy I know has a white one, the rest have the black one.
 
I certainly wouldn't judge a guy for having a white iPhone, nor would I judge a girl for having a black iPhone. iPhones are iPhones! Get whichever color you want!
 
yeah its not really girly. its just a colour, but girls tend to go with the white. 90 percent i know have white. and ditto for black and guys. i had white and got called girly all the time, whatever!
 
cause black is sexy.. :) and men like sexy.... white is more neutral and cute.. and women like that.. so women usually get white..

either color looks pretty good but the slate band on the new ip5 is just pure sexness.. hopefully the reports of it easily scuffing are not true though
 
i got the white not because i liked white but because i liked the macbook-ish aluminum back and side ! whatever ! also bcuz the black shows smudges and fingerprints much worse !
 
anyone who is secure about their sexuality and is confident wouldn't worry about what is "girly".

but i tend to think that society views the color "white" as being feminine and "black" as masculine. Don't know why though. :confused:

I don't think it's girly and if you do you're probably pretty immature. I've had white 3GS and 4S and decided to get black this time just to switch it up. - male
 
I think maybe because as a phone, it kind of looks like a toy. I have a white 4S and all my other iPhones before were always black. I'm getting a black 5 but only because I like how it looks sleek and just want a change from the white
 
I'm a dude. Conservative, gun-carrying, scotch drinking DUDE. And I prefer the white iPhone.

To each his (or her) own, I say.

I still think the best looking iPhone was the original iPhone, which had the light-colored metal backing. Glad they've gone back to that, though this time I ordered black. For some reason the new white ones don't look as nice to me as the 3GS, 4 and 4S did in white.
 
Does anyone else think Macrumors should require all users to be 18 or older (credit card check or something)? Seriously. The OP couldn't even take the time to spell out the word "Why" instead abbreviated it "Y".

*sigh* I weep for the youth of today.
