When I try to run FCP 5.04, it will try to start and then quit.

It will only load if I trash my prefs. I must do this EVERYTIME:time in order for the program to start.

I recently upgraded from Tiger on a MDD G4 to Leopard on a 2.8 Dual Quad.

I cloned the data from an IDE to a sata then upgraded it to the new OS and all the updates and verified/repaired all the permissions.

I wish I could reload the programs but no longer have the disks...

HELP!

FWIW, you'll need to upgrade your version of FCP to at least 5.1 (the first version made to work on IntelMacs). The current version is FCP 6.

With a pro-application you need to install from the discs. Cloning/copying doesn't work well.
