“There is a move at Yahoo! -- in addition to Konfabulator -- to move more onto the Mac,” said Schneider. “We want to make sure we find a way to be more cross platform.”

Start with Launch please

I thought the creator of Konfabulator was so pissed off with Apple's Dashboard move that he swore never to make Mac software again? If true, would this mean Konfabulator coming to Windows?

Really? I thought the Konfab people themselves were the first to admit that they had "borrowed" this idea from Mac OS to begin with.... It seems surprising that they'd be mad when it got borrowed back. Although I agree that the most honorable thing for Apple to have done would have been to buy out Konfab. :(

Hopefully, Yahoo will find some way to make a compatibility layer so that their future product does not need Konfabulator to run on Tiger, because I really don't want to operate two widget environments. Not that I have any Yahoo widgets now....

Schneider also confirmed that Konfabulator would be available for free. In addition, Yahoo! plans to refund customers that purchased the product in the last two months.

"Yahoo! said the reason they purchased Konfabulator was that they wanted an easy way to open up its APIs to the developer community and allow them easy access to the information on the Yahoo! Web site."
If this is supposed to be an answer to the Google API kit, then it's a real letdown.
