Yahoo contacts in Messages disappear and "go offline!"

I am now having a problem with the Messages application. When I sign into my Yahoo account, all my online contacts appear for a split second and then disappear, and all appear as "offline" so I can't tell who is really online! I kept trying to log in and out, and the same thing keeps happening! It's really irritating, and I have to use Yahoo Mail to chat with my contacts (I REALLY hate it.)

Is there a way this can be fixed?
