Yahoo Imap with Mail.app

Hello,

I have palm centro and was able to setup my yahoo account using Yahoo Imap server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
It works fine and i'm able to login and get my messages, so i know it works.

Today i tried to set it up in my Mail.app on my mac pro.
I put in all my settings and it refuses to connect.
I'm attaching a screen shot of the error.
basically it thinks that my password is incorrect.
Problem is its correct.

Any ideas on how to fix this issue?

Try looking and seeing if Yahoo has specific instructions for Apple Mail (they probably do).

do you have yahoo plus? on yahoo's website it says:
"The ability to access Yahoo! Mail via a POP3 email client (such as Outlook or Outlook Express) is only available to customers of our premium Yahoo! Mail Plus service."

Let me clarify. I have pop enabled on my account and I have Yahoo Plus.
I have Imap working on my Palm Centro.
I have my POP working with Mail.app but i'm unable to get IMAP working. I'm looking to see if its possible to get Mail.app to use IMAP to connect to Yahoo mail.

Yahoo doesn't have any guides for Macs

After looking around, i found that Yahoo doesn't off IMAP for email clients like Mail. On yahoo answers, a guy was wondering when IMAP will be avaliable and the best answer was to switch to gMail or just be happy with POP.

For that exact reason I told my mother in-law to just keep using Yahoo Mail through the website and not Mail.app. You would think eventually they would allow IMAP access....

Thanks guys. it looks like yahoo imap only works with mobile devices. oh well back to pop
