Yahoo Messenger one big bug?

I recently downloaded Yahoo Messenger for Mac Os X (I have 10.2) and when I try to log in, it just says 'logging in' and never does anything. Is this just one big bug for Mac Os X.2? Is there an alternative client that will let you talk?

I have about 12 percent faith in Yahoo messenger. Not only do they write poor software, they are rude.

not to mention AIM is 10x better. Not many people use Yahoo
messenger.

But if you absolutely must, go to versiontracker.com and make
sure you have the most recent version, and see if there are
any alternatives.

i had the same exact problem. i switched to using proteus - it has given me no trouble, and it has multiple client support so i only need to have one program open to chat with my aim and yahoo friends.

search for it on version tracker. much much better.

Try setting it to use HTTP protocol, it helps a lot. It's really pathetic how much it doesn't work, tho for me it works 80% of the time...

sometimes it will just not connect for anything... i think they need more servers.
