Yahoo Messenger Question

is there anyway to run this application without it being on my desktop? everytime i try to move the icon to my application folder it wont load saying i need to fix the alias. i can only use it if i leave the icon on the desktop. anyway around this boys? i dont want the stupid looking "Y" on my nice clean desktop

lol uh.. let me guess, you ran it while it was on your desktop instead of moving it to your applications folder first right?

You should clear your preferences for the app in /User/username/Library

then move it and rerun and it should be ok.

why not use Adium instead? it does yahoo just fine

EDIT: with the exception of webcams and that video stuff it's fine anyway

i will try that, i do use adium, i only keep yahoo around specifically for audio/video. i have a girlfriend in kansas city you know

Try using mercury for video, its an msn clone. The current incarnation gives a fuzzy picture, but its predesesor gave a clear one for me at least.

The frame referesh rate seems to be quicker on msn for some reason.

thanks for the responses. i deleted the saved preferences as mentioned above and that did the trick. thanks!

i have try mercury but its only video one way. if adium would just add audio/video it would be the best IM client for mac ever...
