Yahoo Messenger via Adium causes machine crash

I have my MacBook running Adium for almost two years without any problem. My machine usually runs smoothly and never crashed either. Somehow yesterday when Adium tried to sign me on my Yahoo Messenger account, the machine crashed. There was a message "You need to restart your machine..." (in four languages) and I had to restart my machine by pressing the power button.

1. I tried to uninstall Adium (and deleted all password/login info in Keychain), and re-install Adium. Same problem remains.

2. Adium works well for MSN, Google Talk, AIM, facebook, etc. But once I added Yahoo Messenger account and it tried to log on to Yahoo, the machine crashed again. I tried several Yahoo login name; all caused the same problem.

3. When I logged on to other user accounts in my MacBook (for example, admin account or guest account), Yahoo Messenger via Adium works well without crash.

Any hints? This problem is driving me crazy. Thanks a lot!

I had issues until I downloaded the latest Adium beta, but it has since updated

Make sure you have all the updates installed or try the latest beta

My version is 1.4b8 and it works fine with Yahoo
