Yahoo news videos won't play in Firefox, Safari

i just recently purchased the Imac 24 and downloaded the Flip4mac plugins. In general, the videos on various sites are playing fine, with the exception of Yahoo news videos (from CNN, ABC, etc) in both Safari and Firefox. When I click on a news video link, the video window appears and plays the advertisement (of course!) but then the video viewing screen goes blank and no video plays. I've been told that this problem can't be solved until Yahoo chooses to make the video feeds Mac OSX compatable. Is this true? Any comments appreciated,
