I wanted to see if Yahoo Push had improved. Maybe too early too tell. But a problem with WiFi vs EDGE seems to be more clear to me.

With WiFi On I did the following:

I started my test with an empty Yahoo InBox. I left the IE Yahoo Mail Window Open so I could easily hit "Check Mail" after I sent myself an email from another email client.

After sending I could see it hit Yahoo Mail within 1 or 2 seconds, very fast.

I had my iPhone open to my InBox. After maybe 15-30 seconds (maybe longer) I would see the iPhone do a "Checking Email...." but it would not download any of the mail from Yahoo. My guess is that everytime a new email would hit Yahoo it would "notify" my iPhone which would trigger a check for email task. I did this about 10 times with no email download to the iPhone.

I then turned off WiFi on my iPhone. I sent another email to Yahoo. Again very shortly there after my iPhone would do a "Checking Email ...". This time ALL my email downloaded with the first check.

My conclusion, which I suspected before, is that Yahoo Push does not "always" work when the iPhone has WiFi turned on. At least it did not work this time. I believe I have seen it work before with WiFi On but I have noticed in the past that it was not as reliable when I was using WiFi.

ALSO, I just noticed a setting on my iPhone Yahoo Mail Account (Advanced), called "Yahoo Setting" - "Use Push mail" - ON. Was this here before 1.1.1 or is it new?
