Yahoo Win version on mac?

The mac version of yahoo messenger is just horrible :| i need to be able to hear in conferences with voice chat and have photo share.. is there any program for mac that does this? and if not how do i run windows apps from inside the mac os? i heard there was a way and is there any possibility of this causing problems for my mac?
