I'm looking for a solution that will allow me to keep a rolling tally through the year of how far I've walked.

I've got an Apple watch and the activity app will show me a day summary. On the watch I can see a weekly summary but I can't find anything that will show a yearly summary.

Anyone any suggestions please?
 
The Health app will show you a summary that you can view per month/year, but that's daily average.

Health Data - Activity - Steps - tap Y at the top

To get exactly what you want (like total steps to date), you could use the Shortcuts app to build a report, though you'll need to learn a bit about how that works or ask for help from someone here or on https://www.reddit.com/r/shortcuts/

Otherwise someone may be able to suggest a third party app that gives a different view.
