I have my original iPhone running 3.0. I use Tmobile (USA). iTunes 10.1.

Wondering if anyone would be so kind as to tell me if I can safely go any higher with the iPhone software?

I swore I'd not do it again, but as more and more apps don't work with my phone, I'd like to know if I can indeed go farther.

I can probably find links if anyone could please share the names of the websites/programs/whatever I need?

I have zero issues with any part of the phone right now, so I do feel leery tempting fate once more. I also need to make sure I don't screw up and can unlock it again.

Thank you in advance for any advice. I wish I could say I was less of a newb after all of this time, but honestly, when it comes to the iPhone, tutorials are my friend.

The furthest you can go with the original iphone 2G is 3.1.3
And it wont make any of those apps compatible since they most need 4.0+
And with the 2G iphone even if you screw up you can always JB and unlock it unlike with the rest of the iphones were if you mess up and update the baseband you have to wait for a new unlock hack.

Thankfully the apps I'm looking to use are just wanting at the highest, 3.1.2

I'm just unsure of which programs/sites I need...
