Hi guys,

I noticed that my MacBook Pro 16 inch has a slight yellow glow on the top edge of the screen. It isn't very noticeable but now I can't unsee it. Especially when the edge of a window hits the top of the screen and in the menubar I can see the discoloration (on a gray background it's most noticeable). Is it normal to have this sort of abnormally in a MacBook pro screen?

I have to say that despite this yellow glow I'm very impressed with the lack of backlight bleeding on the screen. :)

I returned one because of this issue... and the replacement had it too (in the EXACT same spot, about 1/3 screen width from the right edge, about 1.5 inches wide). This was on 2 brand new machines.

It is very subtle, but once you see it you can't unsee it. I first noticed it when certain browser tabs looked darker compared to their neighbors in fullscreen mode. It's more noticeable if you look "up" at the screen at an extreme angle while it is tilted away from you with a bright background. It appears as dark areas in this scenario. Straight on viewing it looks more like a brownish tint. I think it's almost impossible to see if you use dark mode. It irks me. ab

That might be normal. I had the 16” for a bit before returning it. The screen was yellowish dull which I didn’t like.

Other than that it’s an awesome computer no doubt. Really great machine.
