I just bought an iPhone 16 Pro Max from a friend in mint condition, but I immediately noticed that the screen has this yellow tint to it that I didn’t experience on my previous iPhone 15.

Night shift and True Tone are both OFF.

I did a quick google search and found a Reddit thread where people are complaining about this as well. ( )

Has anyone experienced this? Or knows how to fix it?

I might bring it into Apple.

If the tint is uniform across the entire display you can probably just recalibrate it through accessibility settings with a hue tint.

Thanks, I figured out how to do that. It makes it looks a bit more blue/white. Not sure if I should take my phone into Apple though.

Chances are you think it's yellow because you're comparing it to your previous iPhone 15. If you separate them and don't compare, you'll find that you won't notice anything unusual about the new screen.

Yeah, that’s possible, but to be honest with you I noticed it right away after using the new phone for like 15 minutes. I haven’t looked at the iPhone 15 for a week and the yellow tint still kind of annoys me. Although the accessibility color filter trick helps a bit.

When you first set up a phone you get the option to choose colour tone: warm neutral or cool
Is it maybe that it was set to warm? It will be a bit yellower being probably at 3200K on the colour scale.
You've adjusted it with colour tint but it isn't exactly the same I don't think and to get the original option back you have to restore the phone to it's original condition and set it up again

I’ve never seen that option to choose color tone when setting up a phone. There’s True Tone and nigh shift but I have those off
