Normally I use products from Lifesize to videoconference with partners. Unfortunately I find myself having to interact on a regular basis from now on with a bunch of people too cheap to buy even a Lifesize Express. And they're Mac users to boot.
Given the amount of visual comms we'll be doing I think this will be a total disaster, but I'm going to have to give the regular-ol'-webcam-stuck-to-the-iMac routine a shot.
I don't really see their budget for this being more than a couple of hundred bucks, and I'm definitely not contributing to the budget. For that they'll need a mic which can pick up voices in a small room as best as possible (if the cam can do that, of course that'd be good) and as high a resolution as possible to use over iChat or Skype. I'll also need to install the same setup at my end at home and office, unless there's a way of making my Lifesize Team/Room setup talk to theirs. Commswise, I believe they have an 8Mb-ish ADSL line with probably a 512K-ish upline speed, while I have 2Mb SDSL at home and 10Mb leased at the office.
Recommendations would be appreciated.
