Hi Guys,

So I posted a while ago about the IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext and the MacBook running slowly, I had installed catalina and with the file system changes, it really made it harder to edit this kext.

I have since wiped and gone back to Mojave, and all is well, however I noticed last time that the CPU stays at a constant 1.2Ghz never boosts or does anything, temp as always sits under 50deg c, and fans never ramp up (i have cleaned it all anyways).

So I guess the question is, why does removing this kext make a difference? Its clearly to do with the plist file that tells the system how the CPU is utilised, but I can't seem to fault any temps, or anything. What can I check as to test on where the fault lyes?
