I was so pleased after the iOS7 update to finally have all my artwork back on my iOS devices. Even adding missing artwork now seemed to have worked.

After upgrading to Mavericks the problems start all over again and are worse.

I am using iTunes Match and usually do not want to have any songs saved on my Mac as I prefer to stream. But I do have some music videos that aren't in iCloud that need to be physically present on my Mac. Also, I had a few music albums downloaded to my Mac from the cloud. What happened after upgrading to Mavericks was, that all videos and downloaded music was deleted from the iTunes Media folder. I only realised that when I suddenly saw missing artwork again in iTunes. The thing is, I don't care about the music as it is in the cloud anyway but the annoyance is that all music videos have been deleted and all the music that I had downloaded from iCloud now has missing artwork. Even the music that I bought directly from Apple. Clicking the "Get Album Artwork" button doesn't do anything..

Anyone else experiencing this odd behaviour?

Edit: this is just great. More artwork is magically disappearing for no reason. Seems like every time I close and reopen iTunes more artwork is missing.
