Was in a Books A Million store this afternoon and spied these 2 book holders that should work nicely for the iPad...

Priced at $29.95. Took it out of the box...nicely made of alder...liked that the holders fold down. Could put 4 rubber bumpers on the base if you wanted to place this on a kitchen counter. Folds completely flat.

Same price...a little more spartan...but made of oak. Not crazy with how far back the back leg extends...but certainly more portable than the first.
Might go back and grab that alder one.
