iPod Yet another windows XP iPod question

I got my dad an ipod for fathers day (5th gen video) I have a mac and he has a windows machine. It's really easy for me to rip DVD's on my mac via mac the ripper and handbreak. What if any programs are suitable and easy enough to use on a windows machine?? Sorry if this has been asked I searched but nothing useful came up\

Handbrake has a windows version, although I don't have a PC, so I can't tell you if it works as well as the Mac version.

Handbrake works pretty well on the PC side, but you need DVD43 to remove any copy protection from the drive.
