Made the mistake of trying to JB w/new Greenp0ison 4.2.1 without upgrading to actual 4.2.1 first (was on 4.0.1 JB)

Got the "your phone is in restore mode...." msg in iTunes.

After trying to put phone in DFU mode, it will no longer boot at all. Just dead. Very upset and frustrated, in desperate need of assistance.

Thanks in advance.

try holding down the power and home button together for 8 seconds

This time it worked. Thank you.

NOW, about the "iTunse has detected your phone is in restore mode... you must restore" msg in iTunes? I still have the "connect to iTunes" logo on the phone.

ok, have you ever used tinyumbrella before or have it on your system?

Yes. Actually just backed up using TU. (before this mess)

ok then, open tinyumbrella while your iphone is connected then hit the "advanced" tab and uncheck the box that reads set hosts to cydia on exit. Then exit TU and restore in itunes
