It's been some time since I've been contemplating on buying a mbp, but I was planning to hold onto the release of yosemite. Now it's released I'm wondering if it's still worth buying. Most new and exciting features are only for when you have an iphone or ipad. Personally I prefer android at the moment and have no need to buy ios products. But if the trend continues that those loyal to the ecosystem will be rewarded, and others are left out, I don't feel like investing in a part of the ecosystem.
I know their main cashflow is from hardware and that they need people to buy into their ecosystem, but I still want choice. And even though the new features are obviously not necessary, it feels less pleasant not being able to fully enjoy the operating system.
So my question, would you still recommend yosemite with android (or maybe wp) users?
