To install BootCamp and Windows 7 Home Premium on Yosemite (10.10.1), I have done the following:
1) Start up BootCamp Assistant (v. 5.1.2) and selected just "Download the latest Windows support software from Apple" and stored it on a USB stick.
2) I do not need a USB stick for Windows 7 because I have a real DVD disk for Apple's DVD Player.
3) Then with BootCamp I selected "Install Windows 7 or later version" with my DVD disk already inserted into the DVD Player. BootCamp proceeded to load into memory all the software and rebooted.
At that split instant of time, I pressed my <Option> key so my iMac would boot from the Windows 7 disk.
And THEN I do not know what's going on ... With the dialog "Installing Windows 0%" ... the 0% stayed ZERO for over 5+ minutes ... so I gave up.
What am I doing wrong?
I remember going through this with Mavericks and the above 0% rapidly changed to a bigger and bigger number until the install was complete in just a very, very short time.
So, what's the deal with Yosemite??? or is the problem the new BootCamp Assistant (5.1.2)??? or me???
