Yosemite and Wi-Fi greyed out

After experiencing wi-fi issues and app store not working, just finished clean-installing Yosemite on my mid 2011 MBA.
During the final stage of the installation, Wi-Fi was greyed out so I skipped and it still is greyed out after the installation completed.
On the system report, Wi-Fi still shows alright. What the heck...
Anybody?

Have same problem on a mac mini, the wifi is greyed out, how do i activate this, when i hold down the optionskey during startup to get into the recovery menu, the wifinetworks shows up, but not in the os itself, anyone got a clue??
