Trying to boot into Yosemite and the Macbook shuts down after putting in the password for the main account. I can log into the guest account just fine.

I also can't boot into safe mode. When I try to boot into Safe Mode, the screen flashes very quickly and this error message shows. Can anyone make sense of it?

Disk utility sees nothing wrong with the disks.

did you recently install or update? sometimes if those don't correctly install they can cause these types of issues.

if you have time machine you can restore to an earlier point where you had no problems. or reinstall via the restore screen. after that happened, i made a bootable usb, so that i could get around multiple huge GB downloads and since that time, have not seen the issue.
