I have a 2010 macbook pro 13". After upgrading to Os X Yosemite, it worked well for 2 days, but once I restarted it, it would turn on only to a black screen. Tried turning power on in different modes as mentioned in various support forums without any luck. After much research and knowning that other people out there have had similar problems with upgrading to Yosemite, I want to dwongrade to Mavericks. Since the macbook in non-operable, I wasnt sure how to do the downgrade. Can I remove the internal hard drive and do the downgrade outside of the macbook? If yes, how?

Thanks for any help.

Yesterday my 2011 macbook pro 15" did basically the same thing, I have had Yosemite loaded for about 4 weeks. When I get to the Apple screen the load bar gets to about 1/3 of the way then screen goes black and that's it! From what I have read looks like GPU/logic board failure. Don't have the hardware test sw so it's going to Apple to confirm.
