I have a Mac Pro. While the performance of Yosemite beta has been stellar on my internal SSD RAID, it does take ages for Finder to appear at startup (over 5 minutes). This problem affects the 3 backups I have as well.

What I'd like to do is do a erase and install onto one of the non-RAID internal HDD backups, then migrate the data and programs off my RAID startup disk, and then clone that back to my RAID.

How do I go about doing an erase and install? And how do I migrate data and programs (but not boot files etc) from the RAID to that fresh install?

Any help greatly appreciated
