I am using a late 2012 imac. It shipped with mountain lion. I upgraded to mavericks with no issue. Games still ran great. I upgraded doing a clean install of yosemite and all my games run like complete crap now. even older games lag like hell. The same games that ran smooth as butter before lag like crazy. I took yosemite off of it and put mavericks back on it and everything runs smooth again. so my question is does yosemite not have the correct drivers for the 2012 imac or something. I dont even want to try elcapitan after finally getting my games to work properly.
