tl;dr spotlight indexes after boot, index finishes and applications don't turn up on spotlight quick search and tags don't show up on tags page in finder.

I'm on the first public beta branch.

Longer version:
This bug started randomly, not after me changing anything in any settings consciously. When I boot my mac, Spotlight starts indexing immediately. During this process, quick search still works as intended and applications still turn up on spotlight and my tags still stay. Once the indexing is complete, apps don't turn up and my tags are not turning up either.

Anyone experiencing this bug?

yep. prod 10.10, rmba mid 2012

I'm answering because this is happening (to me, at least) in the commercial release as well.

No changes to any settings. I noticed it a few days ago, although it may have been happening since installing Yosemite.

You can try

sudo rm -Rf /.Spotlight-V100
sudo mdutil -i on -E /

in Terminal to whack the existing index and then rebuild it. That has worked just now-- that it, apps that had failed to appear are now showing up in the spotlight window-- but I've read that the problem can be somewhat sticky and recur unexpectedly.
