Yosemite unable to hide file extensions

I have a problem with Yosemite being unable to hide the file extensions on specific files.

Could someone let me know if it's just me?

I right click a file (.dmg) in my case. > Get Info > Name & Extensions > Hide extension - toggle on/off

Seems to do nothing?
