Touchmods.net just released their SIP-VOIP software, and I just used it. I must say that it is amazing. I called myself, then I called my friend, and he was like no way... Well all u need now is a mic for your touch, and hello "itouch-Phone"

:D

I didn't even know they made mics for the touch... What are the constraints of this software? Is it free? Does it only work over Wi-fi?

Yep

Yep it is free, and u have to use it over wi-fi, but common, all calls within the US is free, and most part of the European countries. What more can u ask for? common guys , be greatful

I think the limiting factor on the touch is the lack of microphone. Has anyone ripped apart their touch to see if it has the same headphone jack as the iphone? If so, perhaps the iphone headset with mic would work.

I wouldn't be surprised if Apple tried to take legal action, as this is sure to kill iPhone sales...

I doubt it, theres no way it is a reliable means od communication. You need a wifi service to make and receive calls. Sure it is good for you at home if you have a wifi but if you are places that dont have wifi your screwed and if your driving, nope. What if you miss an urgent call while driving and you dont even know bcuz you have no service basically? Great idea, Hell yeah! Will it kill iPhone sales, Hell no
