The 64GB Wi-Fi iPad model is available in both Space Gray and Silver on Amazon, but if you're looking for the 256GB Wi-Fi model you'll need to visit Best Buy. That retailer has the 256GB Wi-Fi iPad for $349.99, another $130 discount and record low price.

Best Buy also has the cellular models on sale for best-ever prices this week. The 64GB cellular iPad is on sale for $329.99, and the 256GB cellular iPad is on sale for $479.99. Both of these deals represent $130 discounts on each model.

Although these iPads are a few years old at this point, today's ultra-low prices should make them perfect for anyone looking for a simple and cheap iPad for daily Internet browsing. Be sure to visit our full Deals Roundup to shop for even more Apple-related products and accessories.

If the iPad is put in a heavy duty shock case, it should hold up fine with a 7-13 year old.
I meant, children shouldn't have tablets and smart phones at all. The harm is clear.
Not even travel is a good excuse in my view. There are activity books for that purpose.

You sound like my parents. I’m in my 30s. I missed out on culturally relevant things because my parents said video games and being online were harmful.

No disrespect to you but I absolutely hate that viewpoint.

I'm not against fun, or even games. But good parenting is very difficult, and it's far too easy to stick an adhd machine in front of their developing brains.
Also, I'm willing to bet the only reason you feel you missed out on anything, is precisely because of the internet.

More from going over to friends houses and not knowing how to play specific games because my parents never let me. And guess what? I got made fun of for it.

I’ll counter banning everything is just as harmful as not taking action. You don’t have to be a dictator to your child.

This is bs. There are countless studies that displaytime for the under 12 aged is very harmful.

So be glad u didn’t know what f… game is how to be played. You probably knew many other things digital zombies didn’t know about

There are recent studies showing children under the age of 2 are harmed by using digital screens/tablets. But that's because their brains are still forming a lot of basic connections and associations at that age. It's probably doing harm having them digest all the digital representations of real, physical things and offering to let them manipulate them in such a limited manner, touching against the flat surface.

I wouldn't advise giving really small kids a tablet to play with or watch things on. But that's very different than parents who thought video games were evil and refused to let a teen or pre-teen enjoy them.

Yes, when I look at the world's problems, I think it's screen time that is the number one worry!

These things are slow, raggedy, practically no RAM, and near unusable on the more recent iPadOS releases.

$100 max is all they’re worth.

Clearly you don't have a child.

0-3 is the critical age, then light usage with a supervision of a responsible adult does no harm.

I do have children. I put them in sports and make them do homework. With free time they enjoy board games, Switch games, etc with family and friends.
They don't have their "own" devices, where they're allowed to turn into selfish little demons, as is unfortunately quite common.
"Supervision of a responsible adult" may be well intentioned, but that rarely holds true in reality. Most kids who receive phones and ipads get sucked In while parents enjoy a moment of freedom. The slippery slope is real.

0-2 and 14-18 (in my case) are dramatically different ages as well.

Yeah, you’re right. I’m so glad I got made fun of at school because I couldn’t play Madden or Final Fantasy or Mario or Grand Theft Auto (even though I was 18).
