Been lurking these forums for a while, finally have a reason to post. Was debating getting rid of my iPad Mini 7 for an M5 iPad Pro. Usually Apple won't let you trade in a model that is still new. Now they are allowing you to trade in the newest Mini for a M5 Pro.

I got $275 for the 128gb Mini 7.

The Mini 7 is still the cutest iPad [IMO]. The 60hz is crazy.

if you are decided in going with the M5 iPad Pro, you will not be disappointed.
Got a little tired of waiting for the rumored iPad Mini Pro. Wanted pro motion and OLED. Plus I mainly use it to stream videos and play games so the bigger screen and the graphics upgrade made me go Pro.

If the Mini had 120hz, I would have bought one in a heartbeat. I’m now just holding out hope for an iPhone Fold next year to fill that desire. I do definitely love my 13” Pro, but the Mini would be great for reading and traveling.

I was thinking of that also. That if I'm going to eventually get the Fold, then it makes the Mini even less needed. Where our Pro's are still going to be a lot bigger and still useful.

Hi! Same situation here! Got an iPad mini 7, now ready for a bigger and better screen. But: What size to take? It‘s my main device and sits most of the time on my desk. It‘s a only at home used device and only for private and fun stuff like media consumption, watching movies and youtube, surfing on the internet.
My question: What size did you order? The 11“ or 13“? And do you use it mainly at home?
I‘m going back and forth thinking, the 13“ tablet could be too massive even at home use?
Only tablet use! Without MKB and without pencil.

So, what to do?

I went for the 11 inch, because most of my use case is just holding it. Those that use the keyboard case and treat it like a laptop generally go 13 inch. People say the 13 inch is too big as just a tablet.

Convenience is always good but 275 doesn’t seem great even for base model. Though I’m not sure what second hand market looks like.

The Amazon Prime sale had it for $379 new and $240 to $250 like new (amazon resale). Other sales have had similar new prices. So I would say it isn't a bad trade in value. Certainly more than I would have got after fees on eBay or other places. BestBuy usually offers higher trade in values, but they don't yet take the Mini 7.

Good to know. Yeah Best Buy trade on mini 6 coupled with price matching microcenter having the mini 7 for 399 like a week after launch is the only reason I splurged for mini 7

I’m very happy with mine still but I might find myself tempted by an oled pro motion mini 8 if it’s got that and some extra bells and whistles we’ll see .. whenever that comes out. Probably at least another year or year and a half away.

On regular size iPad still humming along just fine with my 11” iPad Pro M1

Probably a good play to wait for the Pro to discount and for them to accept the Mini 7 trade in. I don't think it is worth waiting on the Mini Pro, especially given those rumors that it still might not have all the features of the Pro. Like having 90hz instead of 120hz. I wouldn't put it past Apple to give the Mini an OLED screen but keep 60hz.

Thank you!
I have an iPad Air 13“ from my parents here to play around with.
The fact that I with iPad OS 26 can zoom in and out window tabs and the keyboard too, is sooooooo damn tempting to me..!
That means, even with the bigger iPad 13“, I can make things smaller on the screen.
Yes, the physical size of the iPad remains, but uuuhhhhh… it means to have kinda bit of both worlds in one device..
I will make a decision today..
