Purely for interest I tested this Sandisk 'Extreme pro USB 3.1' 128GB through a USB A - C adapter.

It was freshly formatted in ExFat and offered the hint on the screen that 9 minutes of 4K60 Prores Log could be recorded.
Viewed it on my macbook, only took a few seconds of video but as far as I can tell it worked fine, no visible dropped frames or stuttering.
The drive itself is maybe 5 years old already, and is a little above average as far as I know in terms of speed.

@Ryan P, Nice! Have you sourced a decent 10gbps usc-c cable? Wondering how short you can get and if the cable is going to be able to bend enough.

Check this one out https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08L8Z7YJ8 . Is 5”, well made, and flexible. Also happens to be 100w power and thunderbolt 4, so useful in general. I think 3.5” would be ideal, but it doesn’t stick out too far.

Also I got this, for the attachment https://www.amazon.com/dp/B093Q2HV29. It comes with 2 items you can use (depending on how strong you want the MagSafe to be). One is a paper thin metal adhesive (that seems good enough for me) and the other is the wall mount pictured.
