Looks like Microsoft has been hard at work. First Surface and now this.

It is one of the most amazing thing i've ever seen. Technology never fails to amaze me.

you can 3 dimensionally, on screen, rebuild structues useing random picutres, i'm sure there is an educational and commercial value for that.

Looks really cool, I wanna know what kind of specs are on that machine.

Well, it is very interesting technology. However, one of the speaker's earliest lines is:
...some new technology that we've brought to Microsoft as part of an acquisition...

So Microsoft is doing their normal thing of buying up other people's technology. (Not that Apple hasn't done that on occasion...)

Would Apple be able to do this sort of thing with the Leopard CoreImage?

Very impressive. I'm sure the way things are going this will be available in some form sooner rather than later.

Sure looks like it's running on a Linux machine...
You'd be wrong. If you look at the very beginning when he launches the app, there is the imfamous OSX dashboard...er....um....Vista side-whatever there, with the standard ugliness and all.

You see, that's what I love about MR. Thanks mashinhead!!! And for all of you guys who can't drop the hate for a second, this is cool stuff from Microsoft. As a former art archivist and curator, and imagery researcher, constructing virtual models from composite images points to alternative ways of accessing information. (It still doesn't make Vista etc suck less:D )
