So, the new Macbook (Air) is out.

And guess what?

It's overpriced! You can't afford it!

Lots of people said this in November. December, too.

We said, "Apple's not going to give you an aluminum notebook at Macbook prices just because you're greedy enough to think they will."

And now you're mad because...well, Apple followed a reality-based business model?

Come on, people. This is how things are. Take the blinders off next time.

Meanwhile, those of us who understood this ahead of time can keep on using our Macbooks, Pros, and other perfectly working notebooks. :D

I could afford it but I'm hardly going to waste that much money on a piece of electronics that I'm not going to like and probably won't be durable

Hmm... the money is not an issue! It's just what you are getting for the money... Yes it's an expensive bit of kit however, I'd rather put that money and get a new MBP.

Which I did, 2 weeks ago :D - Im a student as well :(

The MBA is the first laptop I can ever recall Apple making that's cost more *and* given worse specs than existing models in their lineup.

Am I missing something?? Who really cares how THIN it is, the footprint is still huge!

This is going to be just like the iPhone. In 3-6 months Apple is going to drop the price by $300-500.

I like everything about the MBA except the price.
