Let's talk about something other than the touchpad...

How do you know you're addicted to your iPad?

Here are a few of mine...

-I'm obsessed with wiping the screen down
-I tried to touch my iMac monitor to open a program the other day
-I named my iPad :p
-Every single hobby/interest I have, I've tried to find an app for it.
-I've been losing sleep because I can't seem to put it down and go to bed (how pathetic is that?)
-I have more accessories for it than I do for myself

So, what are some of yours? :D

My iPad is quite nice, and yet it's nothing as compared to my Apple computers. My favorites are my MBP, MBA, Mac Pro, now those are the real deal.

I've got nothing against my iPad, it's just another way to browse the web, it's handy but nothing that special for my uses.

Yet that said, for those who only can afford one Apple device, I can see where they like to view it as a computer than can replace any laptop or other device they cannot afford, don't have a need for, or don't know how to use.

This is the brilliance around Lion, it will take the fear away for many and introduce them to other Apple devices like laptops.

iPads do have some nice accessory keyboards available through third party companies.

You accidentally pinch to zoom on real magazines and newspapers

Happens to me a lot

You even use it in the restroom.

And when you leave you try and make it not obvious that you brought it in with you

haha...that is awesome. Too lose sleep because you're playing with you iPad is real brand loyalty. :p

You guys are awesome. I love these.

I'm learning how to type really fast on the iPad keyboard and the excitement is too much. I am the slowest texter ever on my iPhone because I never got good at typing on it. The fact that I am excited over being able to type on the iPad keyboard like it's a regular keyboard is how I know I am truly addicted to the thing.

that is a sad list of stuff. wow.

I'm no longer addicted, the first week I couldn't put it down, after that it has become a device I only use while in bed. I hardly play any games on it, I've only finished Rage HD, and there are only a few games that I really enjoy out of the 120 I've got..

Haha, me too... I actually sold mine. It's a big iPhone, that's all. The magic wore off.

Basically, it would take a lot for me to buy another tablet. Like...

1. I win the lottery
2. Software gets better
3. Tablets get cheaper

I actually got rid of my MacBook after I bought an iPad. Now I have an iMac, iPad and iPhone. I was about to buy my dad (78 yrs old) one because he had an old desktop and 99% of his computer usage was web surfing and email. What spoiled it is that he went out on his own and got a cheap laptop, didn't tell me and by the time I found out he couldn't return it.

What's great about these and other devices is that everyone is going to use them in different ways.

That's funny because that is exactly what I did and those are the exact same products I have now. I sold my white MacBook to a friend and bought an iPad. :)

I actually face timed a colleague of mine (he has an iphone 4) that was sitting about 10m from me, instead of getting up and go there.

Maybe because I'm genuinely lazy, maybe because his face looks nicer on my low resolution screen, maybe because he has a dead-horse breath...or maybe I got used to doing that on the iPad.
