I am new to mac and I just bought a new 27" mac. I am using Parallels desktop 9 software to run my windows based software. Also I have 2 external hard drives, drive E: for all my important save stuff and Drive T: for Time Machine. I am not sure what the problem i am having is coming from. When I open Drive E: and try to create a New Folder a error window comes up (see attachment). How do I fix this problem? Thanks funnnyfarm

Open up users from system prefs.

Look at the list of users and locate your admin account. The little gear shell at the bottom of that window will allow you to change permissions from read only ( which is what is suspect they are now) to read and write.

Hope it works.

Satcomer The E drive was formatted when I user it with my windows based computer as a external drive. Like I said I am new to mac. Should it be wiped and formatted and start new with the mac? Thanks funnnyfarm
