I am so tired of my home screen layout getting obliterated any time I want to add a widget to an existing Stack. I should be able to force touch a stack and have an option to add right there. Problem solved.
Have you tried dropping the widget directly onto the stack?I am so tired of my home screen layout getting obliterated any time I want to add a widget to an existing Stack. I should be able to force touch a stack and have an option to add right there. Problem solved.

If the widget is an Apple stock app widget, you can enable wiggle mode on the screen and move the widget were yoU want just like a regular app. Once it is on the same screen as the stack widget, slowly slide the single widget overtop the stack widget and it will become part of the stack. You can’t add third party widgets to a Apple stack, as far as I am aware. I tried several times and saw it couldn’t be done.If the widget is created on another screen, how would I do that?
Is the new widget the same size as the stack?I have tried every way I can think, but I always end up with my home screen icons and folders completely shuffled, requiring me to reorder everything. Every time. I have yet to find a way to drag a widget across screen to add to a stack without it shuffling my icons and folders.

You gotta drop the new widget on the stack directly on top of that like you would create a folder on iOS 13.
Why not delete the darn widget on the other screen, go to the screen in which you want to add it to a stacked widget, and then add it from there. "Repeating the same disastrous routine that fails every time is a sign of insanity!" Okay, not exactly what Einstein said, but close enough.![]()
Build your stack in the today view, then drag it on the homescreen.
That is exactly what I do. That way you don’t have to get your Home Screen messed up.Build your stack in the today view, then drag it on the homescreen.
Will try this too, thanks.Definitely a workaround. But my main point was that I should be able to add directly to a Stack. It would be such a better experience.
