It is now the New Year, and I thought it would be nice for a thread where people could post their favorite photo that they took in 2013! Hopefully I'm not repeating another thread, but I didn't see one like it on the forum yet...

My submission comes from the island of New Caledonia in the SW Pacific:

This is probably my favourite of the year. A silver leaf monkey was incredibly curious about my girlfriend's hand when we visited Borneo, and in between turning her hand over and inspecting it, it would instinctively hold on with it's foot in a "you're not going anywhere" kind of way. It was wonderful to watch.

This was a little unusual for me as I mostly shoot cars and products but this was a jewellery shoot and I really enjoyed it. The aim was to have a 1920s period feel and for it to look classy to attract wealthy clients. I uploaded some pictures to 500px and 2 made 'popular'. The first time that has ever happened to me so I must have done something right!

It was lit with a 1 metre octabox on the upper left and a small undiffused fill light front right. The prop is an old theatre light.

Melizrad, what a great idea. Here's my entry. I took this at sunrise with storm clouds exiting our area but with clouds off to camera left. The sun was just hitting the Highland mountains off in the distance, when suddenly a ray of light streaked across the trees in front of me lighting up the tops.

Snow in the Mountains

We usually don't get much snow here in Northern California, but when we do it makes for a winter wonderland. I enjoy this photograph from 2013 and hope you do as well. Happy shooting.

I posted this in one of the daily photo threads earlier this year. I took it while on honeymoon with my wife, and has some sentimental value for various reasons. Needless to say, 2013 has been quite the year!

 
I'm not too much of a photographer, but this was the best of the few I took last year.
